The Ogoni Youth Alliance for Climate Change and Sustainable Development (OYACAS) is an Indigenous Women lead organization, community-focused organization dedicated to advancing climate justice, promoting environmental restoration, and empowering young people across Ogoniland.

Nwanam Gold Sorbari

Founder & Chairperson, Board of Trustees

Indigenous women’s rights advocate, community leader, and Executive Director of the Ogoni Youth Alliance for Climate Change and Sustainable Development (OYACAS), dedicated to advancing the rights, leadership, participation, and wellbeing of Indigenous women and girls. Experienced in community mobilization, human rights advocacy, gender equality, climate justice, environmental governance, traditional knowledge, sustainable livelihoods, and Indigenous Peoples’ rights.

Her speeches and contributions amplify the Ogoni struggle for environmental justice, the protection of indigenous rights, and the restoration of polluted Ogoni land. Gold continues to champion youth empowerment, climate action, and sustainable development across Africa.
